Station 26 – Oktoberfest – German style Marzen lager
Station 26 has become one of the most consistent breweries in Colorado, and their Oktoberfest can sit with the best of them. It pours a lightly cloudy, copper color with a small, fizzy tan hued head. The nose is heavy with bready malt and sweet bread aromas, backed by light toffee and lager yeast esters with hints of cracker mixed in. The body sits at a medium weight, with a bright, medium-light carbonation and a slightly dry finish. The palate starts off with notes of toffee and rye bread, followed by a lager yeast character on the mid-palate which carries into the finish, where lighter toffee notes resurface, before finishing lightly bitter and dry leaving you ready for the next sip. Odd 13 – Lotus Strike Bot – west coast style double IPA
A new offering from Odd 13, this IPA pours a clear gold color with a strong head that leaves some lacing on the glass. The aroma is a little sweet with notes of grapefruit. On first taste you get a strong hop forward flavor that is dank and resinous which gives way to a great citra character, followed by grapefruit and mango. In the end this is a great west coast IPA with a medium to heavy body and a lot of flavor. Review by Stefan Walberg
Weldwerks – Apricot & White Peach Cobbler – fruited & flavored kettle sour
This brewery obviously needs no introduction. You know the standard of quality to expect when you drink their beers. This sour ale pours an opaque apricot color with a medium sized, foamy peach hued head. Sweet peach and lightly tart apricot hit your nose up front, backed by graham cracker, bready malts, and hints of cinnamon. It has a medium-light body with light carbonation and a lightly acidic character. Tart apricot and a citrusy sour character hit your tongue up front, followed by sweet peaches and bready malts mid-palate. Notes of graham cracker and hints of spice come through towards the finish which quickly fade back into a citrus tart character to round the beer out. Review by Dan Chacon
Destihl – Oktoberfest – German style Marzen lager
This seasonal offering pours a slightly cloudy amber color with a small head that fades quickly. The aroma is rich with bready malts, lager yeast notes as well as a full caramel sweetness. The flavor is rich with caramel and honey notes that flow into a well-balanced bready character and a crisp, somewhat dry finish. Overall, this is a classic Marzen style beer with bold flavors and a medium to heavy body. Review by Stefan Walberg
4 Noses – Peter Stardust – hazy double IPA
The legend has returned to earth once again to save all IPA drinkers, in the form of this beer of course. It pours an opaque, pale-yellow color with a large, foamy white head. Aromas of sweet orange come through first on the nose, followed by light grapefruit and melon, backed by slightly dank hops and light grainy malts. It has a medium-heavy body with medium-light carbonation and a slightly dry finish. Sweet orange and melon notes hit your tongue up front, followed by grassy and slightly dank hops mid-palate. The dank hop character continues into the finish where it is joined by notes of grapefruit and hints of pine, while finishing moderately bitter. Review by Dan Chacon
Cerebral – Hands Off My Fruit – fruited kettle sour
This ‘Front Range IPA’ pours a slightly hazy straw color, with a light head and large bubbles. The nose has light hop aromas with some citrus and tropical fruit mixed in. The flavor is hop forward with notes of pine and citrus followed by a light and pleasant tropical finish. This is a lighter bodied and very approachable IPA that is perfect for lazy Colorado afternoons. Review by Stefan Walberg
